In an exclusive interview with BettingSites.co.uk, boxing champion Ebanie Bridges condemns the trial by media of comedian Russell Brand.

Bridges speaks candidly about the treatment Brand has faced in the past week, and calls for society to not ‘jump the gun’ by preempting a verdict on Brand’s accusations.

Interview Highlights:

  • Society is ‘jumping the gun’ on Russell Brand accusations
  • Being a woman myself I think Danis’ treatment of Nina is ‘pretty horrible’
  • I don’t care if you’ve got boobies, you were still born a man

Russell Brand deserves a second chance / Innocent till proven guilty / Society is ‘jumping the gun’ on Brand

Ebanie Bridges believes the public shouldn’t jump the gun and rush to judgement on comedian Russell Brand until he’s had his day in court;

“It’s hard for Russell Brand because of his past. He’s admitted to sex and drug addiction in the past. He’s admitted to treating women badly in his books and audios. He’s not anymore and he’s changed his life, making the step up from that person he was previously.

“I feel everyone deserves to have a second chance at life and make themselves better. But unfortunately, sometimes, if you do things in the past, they can come back and bite you. I can’t really judge him, but he should be innocent until proven guilty, always.

“That’s how society is, sometimes they jump the gun, but hopefully it gets sorted out. It’s kind of like with all the drug testing and boxing, isn’t it? Everyone just jumps on it and they just tear you down.”

Being a woman myself I think it’s pretty horrible / Sweetest f**king win if Logan knocks out Danis

Lawsuits, restraining orders & online abuse, the bad blood between Logan Paul & Dillon Danis is transcending boxing. However Bridges, who’s seen her fair share of trash talking, slams Dillon Danis’ below the belt mindgames;

“I feel so sorry for Nina Agal because it’s just horrible. That’s the reality of the YouTube boxing world though – they have absolutely no f**king line. There is absolutely zero respect in that world. They will do anything and say anything to get the views, to get people talking, and that’s exactly what he’s done.

“At first I was like, ‘oh my god’ –  you laugh a little bit {at the tweets}, but then you think, f**k, it’s a bit much and being a woman myself I think it’s pretty horrible. Iit would put a lot of strain on them as a couple {Logan & Nina}.

“Maybe it gives Logan Paul the boost he needs to knock him out in the first round, that would be great. To be fair, it would be a good payback. Redemption for him. I’m not sure if that would happen but I’m sure it would be the sweetest f**king win if he did.”

I don’t care if you’ve got boobies, you were still born a man / It’s about segregating women, men & trans in boxing

Ebanie bravely spoke out against trans women fighting cis women in our previous interview with the champion. And she returns to double down on her opinion & has no regrets on being a voice for others the speak out;

“I got absolutely zero backlash from that. I just got complete support. Everyone said, ‘finally someone’s speaking up.’ Everyone’s so scared to say anything.

“I think the significance of me speaking up given the kind of person that I am, being a big name in the sport and in general. It gives other people the confidence to speak up.

“I’m not saying you should be excluded – trans people should be able to play sport and do whatever they want, but it’s about segregating women, to men, to trans. It’s that simple because we’re not the f**king same. There’s a reason men don’t fight women.

“I don’t care if you’ve got boobies, you were still born a man.

“You don’t see transitioning women stepping in the ring with men because they have no chance. Because women have no chance against men.

“It was nice to have so many people supporting me because I did post it thinking this could be bad, but I thought, nah, you know what? I’m going to stick up. I don’t want to be that kind of person that can’t stand up for what they believe in.”
