The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) have announced that Paddy Power will be the new sponsor of the World Darts Championship. The betting giant will sponsor the World Darts Championship for the next three years.

Paddy Power Unveiled As World Darts Championship Sponsor

Ahead of the highly anticipated and show-stopping darts event over the festive period, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have hit the bullseye with a new major sponsorship of the PDC World Darts Championship.

The World Darts Championship is held at the famed Alexandra Palace in London each and every year over the Christmas period and into the New Year. This year, the event runs from December 15th to January 3rd.

The popular sports betting site unleashed a funny video to their social media channels yesterday in typical Paddy Power style. The video of course announced that Paddy Power will be the new sponsor of the World Darts Championship, signing a three-year deal with the PDC and their coveted World Darts Championship.

To coincide with the release of this year’s tournament dates and ticket sales information, the video sees the biggest names in the sport subjected to the wild whims of their new sponsors. Former world champions Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price feature, as well as the reigning world champion Michael Smith.

With this new deal announced just yesterday, there is still over five months until the first dart is thrown at ‘Ally Pally’ to kick off the 2024 World Darts Championship.

Matt Porter, the Chief Executive of the PDC, had this to say about the new partnership between the Professional Darts Corporation and Paddy Power:

“We’re delighted to welcome Paddy Power back to darts as our new title sponsors of the World Darts Championship – a deal which they’ve announced in their typically unique fashion with the help of some of our biggest stars.

“The World Darts Championship is the flagship event in our sport, and Paddy Power’s involvement will add extra excitement to an event which is already the highlight of the festive sporting period.”

Michelle Spillane of Paddy Power added, “When we agreed to step up to the oche with the PDC as new sponsors of the World Darts Championship, we knew we’d hit the bullseye. This tournament is the ultimate example of sport colliding with entertainment, a mix we at Paddy Power are naturally drawn towards.

“Getting stuck into a sponsorship as iconic as the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace is hugely exciting for our brand, and we can’t wait to make our mark…maybe just not directly on the pro players!”

The betting giant have made a significant investment to kickstart this partnership with the PDC. In typical Paddy Power fashion, they will aim to employ their clever and humorous marketing tactics to elevate the World Darts Championship to an entirely different level.
