News of this increase in exposure has landed at an odd time as the nation has continuously the current model of the POGO franchise and the offshore gaming operators have faced scrutiny from local lawmakers and international politicians.
However, Tengco and PAGCOR are keen to go ahead with those plans, with online gaming and poker part of the eventual tweaks to the industry.
PAGCOR will now strengthen its hold over the POGO sector and make sure to act in those instances of non-compliance that necessitate a tougher response.
POGO has faced its fair share of controversy, as China continue to pressure the Philippines into stricter restrictions on the gambling sector.
However, Tengco appears to be determined to expanding the sector and making online poker the top of any alternative iGaming option.
