Infamous jockey, Rachael Blackmore, has been involved in a monumental charitable feat, after raising \u00a3250,000 through Betfair’s Serial Winners Fund.<\/strong><\/p>\n The original pot came in at a value of \u00a3100,000 during Betfair Chase day in November 2023 and the betting operator added \u00a35,000 for each of Blackmore’s winning runners.<\/p>\n She has now raised \u00a3250,000 through the Betfair’s Serial Winners Fund, with all of the money going to a variety of charitable causes.<\/p>\n A further \u00a310,000 was added to the pot after Blackmore’s triumphs at Cheltenham Festival, winning the Supreme on Slade Steel and Champion Chase – with the exciting horse, Captain Guinness.<\/p>\n The total number finished on \u00a3210,000 during the races at Aintree and ended during the long-awaited Grand National.<\/p>\n This rose to \u00a3250,ooo after Betfair added another \u00a340,000 to reach the final tally and will now go towards the\u00a0Injured Jockeys Fund and Irish Injured Jockeys.<\/p>\n Blackmore was in a great position to reign victorious during the Grand National, after gaining with Gold Cup winner, Minella Indo – but it was not a glorious ending for the jockey.<\/p>\n The 11-year-old horse was unable to keep the pace up and iconic jockey, Willie Mullins soared to victory on I Am Maximus.<\/p>\n She has previously won the Grand National, clinching the win in 2021 on Minella Times and Blackmore’s triumph came off the course with such remarkable charity work.<\/p>\n Blackmore was full of praise for the work done by Betfair and believes it will help jockeys in other aspects away from racing.<\/p>\n She said: “The Serial Winners Fund was an incredible initiative run by Betfair throughout the season in support of the Injured Jockeys Fund in Ireland and UK, it\u2019s one that I am very proud to have been a part of.<\/p>\n “This really is a substantial donation, generously topped up by Betfair, and will support the vital work they carry out helping jockeys in all areas of their lives.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Infamous jockey, Rachael Blackmore, has been involved in a monumental charitable feat, after raising \u00a3250,000 through Betfair’s Serial Winners Fund.
