The Best Formula 1 Betting Sites in the UK Reviewed

We’ve outlined to you our choices for the best F1 betting sites available to sports bettors in the UK. Here now are some expanded reviews about the top five sites that we think are the best for you to use for your Formula 1 wagers, including your F1 qualifying betting endeavours.

1.  Betstorm Formula 1 Betting – Bet £10 & Get £30 in Free Bets

BetStorm screenshot

We’re very happy to place Betstorm in pole position on our list of the best betting sites for Formula One betting. While we admit this site is not the prettiest you’ll ever encounter, the sports betting software the site provides is clearly the most comprehensive and speediest available anywhere. The site is always constantly updating, which makes it ideal for live betting.

The ‘F1 World Championship’ has its own section at Betstorm, so petrolheads can easily find their way to the best Formula 1 betting opportunities, with a few opportunities to bet on different aspects of F1 races, and the F1 championship overall. If you like to stretch out your motorised betting, you’ll find speedway and rally driving covered at Betstorm too.

The site also currently has a ‘Formula 1 Cashback’ deal. If you deposit £10 or more with the code ‘PODIUM’ (not including Skrill or Neteller) you’ll get 10 percent back up to £500 on all your lost Formula 1 bets!

What we like:

  • Cashback on Formula 1 losses
  • Very fast and responsive site
  • Excellent coverage of the Formula 1 season
  • A full range of sports markets
  • Constant stream of promotions

What we don’t:

  • No live streaming of any kind

2.  BetUK Formula 1 Betting – Deposit £10 & Get £30 in Free Bets

BetUK screenshot

While some sites leap onto the internet with a huge amount of fanfare (and then fizzle out more often than not), others are slow burners, like BetUK. This easy-to-use site has been around since 2018, but it is only really in the last couple of years that it has turned into a genuine success story. Now, thousands of sports punters in the UK are turning away from the traditional big boys and are wending their way to BetUK instead.

We have to be honest and admit that the emphasis at BetUK is on football and horse racing (it is a UK-facing site after all), but coverage of Formula 1 certainly is decent enough (even if the menus are a little awkward to use). We found plenty of good race coverage, and outrights including Max Verstappen specials such as the Dutch demon driver winning the next Grand Prix by a 10 or 20 second margin! Interesting promos too, although sadly none of them were specific to Formula 1.

What we like:

  • Some interesting Formula 1 betting options
  • More F1 coverage than a lot of ‘bigger’ sites
  • Lots of statistics to aid your betting
  • Good coverage of football and horse racing
  • Famous brand ambassador – Teddy Sheringham

What we don’t:

  • Menus are awkward to use

3.  XtremeWin Formula 1 Betting – Deposit £10 & Get £30 in Free Bets

xtreme win screenshot

Here at bettingsites.co.uk we are always on the lookout for new online bookmakers, and so we were very interested when we discovered XtremeWin. While the bigger sites seem to cater for seasoned betting fans, XtremeWin seem to cater more for the betting newb, which is great! This site has a clean and clear interface and goes about what it does with the minimum of fuss. This makes it an xtremewinner in our eyes. This site is operated by experienced sports betting company Vivaro.

Sadly, the emphasis at XtremeWin is nowhere close to other motorsports like MotoGP betting, but with a diligent search you can easily find all the wagering options for F1. Our tip here is to use the search function, rather than rely on the menus. The Formula 1 betting options will then appear and while they are a little basic, there’s enough to bet on, including individual Grand Prix winners, and outrights for the season.

XtremeWin does offer boosted odds, but when we checked they were just for football and basketball. It may though be worth your while checking for F1 boosted odds on the day of a race.

What we like:

  • Good-looking site designed for newbs
  • Price boosts available
  • Excellent coverage of all global events
  • Brilliant for football
  • Top marks for live betting

What we don’t:

  • Menu system is not the best

4.  Rhino Formula 1 Betting – Bet £25 & Get £25 in Free Bets

rhino bet screenshot

Here we come to another relatively new site, as Rhino first opened its virtual betting shop doors in 2020. This site is run by Playbook Gaming, who – unlike most other sportsbooks in the UK – are a UK company! Based in London, Rhino is the only sportsbook they run in its entirety, although they have provided the software for other sites, notably Betzone which is another site we recommend but hasn’t made it only our top ten list.

‘Formula One’ has its own section at Rhino (all other motorized sport can be found under ‘Motor Sport’ in the menus) and there are always plenty of wagering options for F1 races, and of course the usual outrights. There are better Formula 1 betting options at other sites, but if you just want to plonk a bet on the race winner (driver or constructor), then Rhino is just fine-o.

Rhino does offer price boosts, but when we looked it was just football, tennis and golf, no F1, sadly. Maybe check when the British Grand Prix swings around.

What we like:

  • Good for basic Formula 1 betting
  • Price boosts (but not F1 when we checked)
  • Excellent in play section, with cash out
  • Virtual sports, including NASCAR
  • Other motor sports options

What we don’t:

  • Only accepts debit cards

5.  LiveScore Bet Formula 1 Betting – Bet £10 & Get £20 in Free Bets

livescore bet ufc betting

At number five on our list of the best F1 betting sites we come to LiveScore Bet. Football fans have been using LiveScore for well over a decade as it is the perfect tool for keeping track of any football match, anywhere on the face of the planet. LiveScore Bet has been launched as an extension of the impressive LiveScore site, with an identical look and feel.

Formula 1 betting is lumped in with other motor sports (Formula E, Moto GP, Rally, RallyCross and NASCAR) at LiveScore Bet, but Formula 1 takes pride of place in the section. There are outright betting options for drivers and constructors, plus season match bets and markets for each individual race. The markets expand for the popular events, such as the races in UK, Monaco and the season ending races.

What we like:

  • The LiveScore site has been around since 1998
  • Good welcome offer – bet £10, get £20
  • Plenty of coverage of all sports
  • Full Formula 1 coverage, good motor sports coverage
  • Look out for F1 price boosts!

What we don’t:

  • More payment options would be nice

What Makes a Good Bookmaker to bet on F1?

We really do only want to provide you will the very best information, so we took a long time to work out which sites out of the dozens available for UK sports bettors are the best for your Formula 1 bets. If you are interested in our thought processes, or if you want us to justify our selections, then we have outlined a few key criteria that we look at when making our assessments. You might want to use these criteria yourself when make your own online betting site selections.

  1. New Customer Offer or Welcome Bonus or Sign Up Bonus

The best sites give the best bonuses, and that's something that cannot be denied. However, it's not the size of the bonus that's important, it's the friendliness of the terms and conditions. When we look at a bonus we are not swayed by the blurb. We perform our due diligence to make sure the welcome bonus offered is one that doesn't take the mic when it comes to T&Cs. For a fair bonus, check out our number one pick, BetStorm - bet £10 to get £30 in free bets!
  2. Existing Customer Offers

It's all well and good for a site to offer a decent welcome bonus, but if the bonuses stop there, then that's just not as tasty. We much prefer sites that offer a regular supply of bonuses and deals such as reload bonuses and enhanced odds to its regular customers, and not just to new sign ups. One of our best picks, BetUK, scores top marks in this regard.
  3. Customer Support

Let's hope that you never need support at one of our suggested online betting sites, but if the occasion arises where you do, then you want to feel assured that useful help is indeed at hand. The best sites have the best support - live chat 24/7, for example. If the best a site can do when it comes to support is an email address, then it's going to get several downvotes from us. BoyleSports is an F1 betting site with very good support options.
  4. Range of Markets

The chances are that people who want to bet on F1 races what to bet on other aspect of the sporting realm too - there are, after all, only 23 races per year. We champion betting sites that have the best range of markets available, including all motorised sports on four wheels and two, and globally, not just in the United Kingdom and perhaps Europe. You'll find it hard to criticise Tebwin for its range of markets.
  5. Deposit Options and Withdrawal Speed

You cannot bet for 'play money' in the UK, so if you want to place wagers on F1 championship betting, you are going to need to get money into your F1 betting site account. We like sites that have plenty of options to enable you to do so, from debit cards to eWallets to bank transfers. We score sites highly that have plenty of withdrawal options too, and options that come with no fees. Withdrawals should be processed quickly as well, in less than 48 hours.Xtreme Win is one site that gets top marks for deposits and withdrawals.
  6. Is there a Mobile App Available?

The best way to bet is using your mobile. All the sites on our top 10 F1 betting sites lists have been chosen because they are available on mobile - all via mobile browsers, and some also via apps that you can download and install to your phone and/or tablet. If a site is cumbersome or slow when used for mobile betting, then it hasn't made it onto our top ten list, you can be assured of that! For placing money on your F1 betting tips using a mobile app, we recommend LiveScore Bet.
  7. F1 live stream sites

As Formula 1 is the most-watched motorsport, there are no streams available at online betting sites because of the media tie-in Formula 1 has with Sky Sports. To watch Formula 1 qualifying and on race days, you are going to need a Sky Sports subscription. We do like sites that have some live streams though, maybe of races (non-F1) in other parts of the world, or of other premier motor races. BetUK is a good site for live streaming.
  8. In-Play Betting and Cash Out

As you are watching F1 races, you make get an inkling that something is going to happen, live a driver under-performing, or a car that seems to be developing a problem, or a change in the racing conditions. This is where live betting comes in - you can place a bet on a race when the race has already started up. We like sites with excellent live betting options. Cash out is important too. Here, you can settle a wiining bet you've placed before the end of an event, albeit for reduced odds. Ideal if you lose faith in your bet! Rhino has a great live betting section, and permits cash out.

Best Strategies to Bet on F1

Betting on F1 in 2023 comes with difficulty, such is the dominence of Max Verstappen. The Dutch speed expert is so priced that you are going to have to put a lot of money on him to get anything worthwhile from the bet, and then there’s always the chance of another, lesser driver crashing into him and taking him out of the race.

So, what are the best F1 betting tips to get the most from your Formula 1 betting?

Bet without Max Verstappen

Many online sportsbooks will allow you to place a ‘without Max Verstappen’ bet. These bets are settled as if Max Verstappen was not an F1 competitor! These bets allow you to get better odds when choosing ‘winners’, as Max Verstappen does not enter into the equation. Therefore if you back Lewis Hamilton to win a race on these terms and the Brit trails into second to Verstappen, your bet is a winning one!

Currently, none of the sites on our top ten list offer ‘bet without Max Verstappen’ odds, but we know that both Bet365 and William Hill do.

Bet on a Podium Finish

If the betting site you prefer to use does not offer ‘bet without Max Verstappen’ then you should bet on a podium finish instead. You will not get as decent odds as you would on betting on a driver who is not Max Verstappen to win, but you have more chance of coming out with a winning bet.

Check out which drivers (aside from Max Verstappen of course) regularly make podium finishes. Here are the details from 2022 (number of podium finishes):

  • Max Verstappen (17/22)
  • Charles LeClerc (11)
  • Sergio Perez (11)
  • Carlos Sainz (9)
  • Lewis Hamilton (9)
  • George Russell (8)
  • Lando Morris (1)

Bet on the Fastest Lap

Surprisingly, there is one aspect of F1 racing that Max Verstappen does not hold on Monopoly on, and that’s setting the fastest lap time. In 2022, Max Verstappen set the fastest lap time five times out of 22 races, with the honour of the fastest lap being shared among  seven other drivers. Already in 2023, the fastest lap time at the season opener in Bahrain was set by Zhou Guanyu of China, so there is always the chance of a driver who has no chance in winning the race setting the fastest lap.

Here are the details of the ‘fastest lap’ winners of 2022:

  • Max Verstappen (5/22)
  • George Russell (4)
  • Charles LeClerc (3)
  • Sergio Perez (3)
  • Lewis Hamilton (2)
  • Carlos Sainz (2)
  • Lando Norris (2)
  • Zhou Guanyu (1)

You may wish to back the driver who set the fastest lap time on a particular track the season before. Seasonal factors come into play too – in 2022 Charles LeClerc set the fastest lap in the first three races of the F1 calendar but did not set a single fastest lap time again, while George Russell set the fastest lap time in four out of the last six races.

Top New F1 Betting Sites

The latest F1 betting sites to enter the UK market are always worth checking out. They may have a new way of doing things, or there may be just something about them you like more than the site you currently habitually use. There will also be a new bonus for you to take advantage of at the bare minimum!

Here are three new or relatively new sites we think are certainly worthy of your consideration.

  1. XtremeWin – Deposit £10 Get £30 in Free Bets
  2. Rhino – Bet £25 Get £25 Free Bet + 25 Free Spins
  3. LiveScoreBet – Bet £10, Get £20 in Free Bets

Bet365 – Bet £10 & Get £30 in Free Bets

bet365 logoBet365 are probably the biggest name in UK sports betting right now. Betfred – Bet £10 & Get £30 in Free Bets

betfred logoBetfred is another long-established name in the UK betting scene, although not as long-established as William Hill, as Betfred founder Fred Done opened his first betting shop in 1967. Although Betfred primarily seems to be a horse racing site, the Formula 1 betting options are very good. Betfred runs a F1 #Pickyourpunt scheme where you can request ANY F1 bet on Twitter and get a price quoted back to you if your bet is accepted. Oh, and Betfred’s bonus is also ‘Bet £10, Get £30’ !

Best F1 Betting Markets

Here is our explanation of all the Formula 1 betting markets usually available for all the season’s F1 races:

Outright bets refer to the enter F1 season. You can bet on the outright winner, or any driver to win at least a minimum number of races (0+, 2+, 3+, 5+, 7+ and so on). A season match bet will pair two drivers who are in the same team. If you back the driver out of the pair who wins the most points during the season then your bet will win.

All the same bets can apply to constructors too. Constructors may be paired for match bets as well (Haas/Williams, RedBull/Mercedes etc).

For 2023, as Verstappen and Red Bull are likely to dominate, you may find special bets where Verstappen (drivers) and Red Bull (constructers) are taken out of the equation.

You can bet on a driver to win a specific race, secure a podium finish (top three) or a points finish (top ten). Some other F1 markets available to bet on (not available at all online bookmakers) are as follows:

  • Fastest lap in the race
  • First retirement in a race
  • Fastest driver in practice
  • Winning margin
  • Safety car (yes/no)

UK’s Best Formula 1 Betting Offers Around

What betting offers specific to F1? There here are one or two offers that will be of the most interest to people who enjoy betting on F1 races, and F1 championship betting.

Betstorm – Formula 1 Cashback

betstorm logoDeposit £10 or more with the code PODIUM (Skrill and Neteller deposits excluded), place real money bets (singles only) on Formula 1 outrights or races and you’ll get 10 percent of your deposit losses back, up to a maximum of £500. All cashback is awarded as bonus money, but with zero wagering requirements.

Key T&Cs: Opt-in required. The offer is valid for all deposit losses after the initial deposit with the promo code. Formula 1 Cashback is only valud for Formula 1 bets. Excluded Skrill and Neteller deposits.

Formula 1 Betting Terms Explained

If you are new to Formula 1 betting, then here are a few terms that you may not be familiar with explained our clarified.

  • Constructor – there are ten constructors for the 2023 F1 season, each having two drivers. A constructor is the team responsible for certain design elements of the cars the drivers will be driving.
  • Podium Finish – finishing first, second or third in a race.
  • March Bet – a ‘virtual’ bet where two drivers’ race positions will be compared. Punters need to back the better-performing driver to win the bet.
  • Pole Position – at the start of each race, the cars line up in a specified grid pattern. The car at the head of the grid is in ‘pole position’. Pole position is awarded to the fastest driver during qualifying.
  • Safety Car – introduced in 1993, the safety car is deployed onto the track if there is a serious-enough crash. When deployed, drivers are forbidden from overtaking the safety car or other competitors. Some Formula 1 betting sites offer a safety car yes/no bet.
  • Fastest Lap – the driver who sets the best time for a lap during an F1 race. Since 2019 the fastest lap setter has been awarded a bonus point.

For Brits, the most important race of all in the F1 calendar will, of course, be the British Grand Prix held at Silverstone in Northamptonshire on July 9. UK F1 fans will be hoping that one of the three Brit drivers in the 2023 championship – Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Lando Norris – will be able to pip Max Verstappen to the chequered flag. Check out F1 betting sites for any special promotions at the time of the British Grand Prix, as special F1 deals are usually offered.
