BoyleSports have announced that they will boost the “Best Turned Out” award to €1000 ahead of the Irish Grand National on Easter Monday.
BoyleSports Best Turned Out Prize Money Increases For Irish National
The increased pot for the “Best Turned Out” horse is part of BoyleSports’ 10-year sponsorship celebration of the Irish Grand National, with €500,000 in prize money for the race.
Irish Olympian Joseph Murphy will judge the horses before the race gets underway as they walk through the paddock, deciding which groom will take home the €1000 prize.
Murphy, who will head to Paris this summer for Ireland’s Showjumping team was speaking on his role: “This is a terrific gesture by BoyleSports and I’m glad to see stable staff recognised for the continued care and attention they give their horses. They are a very creative bunch so I’m looking forward to seeing their ingenuity showcased on Easter Monday“.
BoyleSports will also gift stable staff a ‘pamper hamper’ on Easter Monday, including the likes of stencils, hoof oil, coloured bands and expert grooming tips and tricks.
Sharon McHugh, Head of PR & Sponsorship at BoyleSports commented on the announcement: “This is a terrific gesture by BoyleSports and I’m glad to see stable staff recognised for the continued care and attention they give their horses. They are a very creative bunch so I’m looking forward to seeing their ingenuity showcased on Easter Monday“.
Back in January, BoyleSports also announced they will be partnering the Fairyhouse race for another three years. They have added further races at Leopardstown and Navan into the agreement too.
I Am Maximus won the Irish Grand National for trainer Willie Mullins last year, and he is set for a tilt at the British equivalent this year at Aintree.
Mullins has the market leader in this year’s renewal of the Irish Grand National in the form of Nick Rockett, who was last seen finishing behind American Mike at Navan.
