One of Dide’s early Instagram posts was captioned: “Rapper at home, footballer on the pitch! Premier League footballer jumps in the UK music industry. Keeping his identity unknown by wearing a uniquely designed mask, that is covered in roses. He goes by the name of Dide.”

Dide has blown up on social media with fans eager to unmask the mystery player, whose YouTube freestyles ‘Intro’ and ‘Smoke & Havoc’ have amassed over 300k and 200k views respectively.

The first official single from Dide, ‘Thrill,’ has 2.2m views on YouTube and 4.35m streams on Spotify following its release in April and the second single ‘Derby Day’ is scheduled to release on August 8th.

Betting Sites Head of News Lee Astley said: “Fans have long rumoured Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah to be the footballer behind Dide, suggesting that ‘Dide’ is an anagram of ‘Eddi’ alongside suggestive lyrics such as ‘my team stay winning’ and ‘every game is like a final’.

“However, Alex Iwobi’s Instagram post on the weekend in his home recording studios has set him now as firm favourite to be revealed as the UK based rapper.”
