The maximum you can wager on any one bet is more of a grey area and subject to the bet type. But a great tip for finding out the max bet is to spam the bet box with numbers – this will tell you the exact maximum stake for the selection, whether it’s a bet on virtual horses or pool.

We could place a maximum wager of £15,000 for Chelsea to beat Luton in the EPL but only £500 for Ace Impact to win the Irish Champion Stakes. The highest stake on a virtual race we tried was £600, which is good. As were the solid limits on Major League Baseball games.

The maximum betting limits on some of our acca bets differed slightly when we added an extra level to our selections, or dropped a leg. It’s also worth noting that the maximum amount you can win on most football markets is £1,000,000 per bet. This doesn’t apply to Asian Handicap betting markets or correct score bets, which come in at £50,000.

Some reviews we read mention a Paddy Power phone number (0800 056 5265) being difficult during busy times, but we called it and it is no longer in service. We spoke with two very helpful staff members on the live chat function at www.helpcenter.paddypower.com. We had to deal with a virtual assistant first, which we expected to be a disruption to our betting activity. If anything, it sped things up when a human support agent took over. Additionally, we decided to send two emails and one message through the contact form on the Paddy Power UK website. There are two Paddy Power betting apps out there – these are known as the Paddy Power Sports Betting and the Paddy Power Games apps. The sports app has a rating of 4.7 on the App Store and 4.4 on Google Play. The games app is not as popular, with ratings of 3.2 and 2.0, respectively.

We downloaded the Paddy Power casino games and sports apps to both an iPhone and Android device. Both performed well and looked great, allowing us to find prices for horse racing as well as odds for rugby union and more of our favourite sports easily. There are no Paddy Power promo codes or extras offered for downloading them, however. You get the same free bets and promotions as you would when playing on the Paddy Power mobile or desktop sites.

While we liked both, we don’t think it’s necessary to download either of the Paddy Power apps.
